Students progression can be measured by the award of a Glove grade. These glove grades are usually awarded by a panel of at least two instructors following a practical examination of the students progress against internationally standardised criteria.
The coloured Glove Grades Achievable are as follows:
Gant Bleu or Blue Glove A beginners grade
Gant Vert or Green Glove An advanced beginners grade
Gant Rouge or Red Glove An intermediate grade. Candidates are now eligible to begin instructor training
Gant Blanc or White Glove An advanced intermediate grade
Gant Jaune or Yellow Glove A senior grade. Allows candidate to enter Pre-Combat to gain the first of the competitive grades--Gant Bronze (Bronze Glove), or test for the higher technical grades of Gant d'Argent (Silver Glove)
